Medical CareMedical care expenses include amounts paid for the diagnosis, cure,mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease, and for treatmentsaffecting any part or function of the body. The expenses must beprimarily to alleviate or prevent a physical or mental defect orillness. Expenses for solely cosmetic reasons generally are notexpenses for medical care. Also, expenses that are merely beneficialto one's general health (for example, vacations) are not expenses formedical care. Medical care expenses include the premiums you pay for insurancethat covers the expenses of medical care, and the amounts you pay fortransportation to get medical care.
