Small Business Resource Guide
This Small Business Resource Guide was developed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)in cooperation with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in an effort to help newsmall businesses find the information needed for success. We hope you will find thisproduct useful and would appreciate your comments and suggestions. Fill-in Form Help Fill-in forms allow you to enter information while an Acrobat 3.X product displays theform, and then print the form if desired. These forms give you a cleaner crisper printoutfor your records and for filing with the IRS. There is no built-in mechanism forself-computation or self-verification of the information you enter and you are stillresponsible for entering all required information (some instructions may require you tohandwrite an amount on the form). Note: The Adobe Acrobat Exchange product supplied with this CD allows you to save yourcompleted form to disk if you; open the form by starting the Acrobat Exchange applicationand then open the specific form you wish to fill-in. Forms you access through a Web (html)browser can be filled-in and printed, but cannot be saved. Entering Information Check Box - To fill-in a check box, make sure the "hand" (cursor) is selectedand move your mouse over the check box until the hand turns into a pointer. Select the boxand a check mark will appear. If you select the field a second time the check mark willdisappear. Text Box - To fill-in a text box, make sure the "hand" (cursor) is selectedand move your mouse over a fillable area until the hand turns to an "I". Selectthe field and the "I" will appear in position to begin entering information. Alltext data is left justified, while numeric data is right justified. Note: You cannot change the characteristics of the fillable areas. Text boxes can bemulti or single-line. A multi-line field allows you to use a carriage return when enteringinformation. We have used a multi-line field when name and address is requested in thesame box. However, the majority of the fillable areas are single line. Navigating Printing Choose Print under "file" to print your form. Caution: Acrobate 3.X products do not recognize and will not print informationcontained in the active field (the field with the blinking "I"). Select anon-fillable area of the form to deactivate the field before printing. For Updates Updates to the Small Business Resource Guide will be made available through a specialWeb page on the IRS Digital Daily. The Small Business Resource Guide Updates page will contain links to the most current informationresources available on the IRS Digital Daily and on other U.S. Government Web sites thatcontribute to the content of this CD. Tax forms, instructions, and publication that werenot available at the time this CD went into production will be available on the DigitalDaily (www.irs.ustreas.gov). |
