The IRS Project is a pilot program designed to help small businesses understand their tax responsibilities.

The University of Texas at San Antonio Small Business Development Center, in cooperation with the national Association of Small Business Development Centers and the Internal Revenue Service created this set of informational workshops designed for small businesses.

All businesses must pay taxes. It is important that new businesses get off to a good start with tax information. Congress creates the tax law and the IRS must implement it. Small businesses must understand and follow the tax law precisely to minimize the amount of taxes they must pay and to avoid tax penalties and additional interest.
