SmallBusinessLearning.net Privacy & Security Statement

We have created this statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for SmallBusinessLearning.net.

While it may seem like a lot of information is collected about you when you enroll for Learning Center courses, much of this helps us customize or direct content to you that is personally interesting or pertains to your business. It also allows us to track SmallBusinessLearning.net Learning Center courses you have completed or are in the process of completing.

We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our web site. Your IP address is used to help identify you and your shopping cart and to gather broad demographic information. Our site uses cookies to keep track of your shopping cart and to make sure you don't see the same ad repeatedly. We use cookies to deliver content specific to your interests and for other purposes.

This site contains links to other sites. SmallBusinessLearning.net is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.

Our site uses an order form for customers to request information, products, and services. We collect visitor's contact information (like their email address), unique identifiers (like their social security number), and financial information (like their account or credit card numbers). Contact information from the order form is used to send orders, information about our company, and promotional material from some of our partners to our customers. The customer's contact information is also used to get in touch with the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below. Financial information that is collected is used to bill the user for products and services. Unique identifiers (such as social security numbers) are collected from Web site visitors to verify the user's identity and for use as account numbers in our record system.

Our online surveys ask visitors for information about themselves and their businesses.

We run contests on our site in which we ask visitors for contact information (like their email address). We use contact data from our contests to send users information about our company and promotional material from some of our partners. The customer's contact information is also used to contact the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.

We use an outside ad company to display ads on our site. These ads may contain cookies. While we use cookies in other parts of our web site, cookies received with banner ads are collected by our ad company, and we do not have access to this information. Some customer data is shared with the advertising companies.

This site makes chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or news groups available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

Terms of Service

SmallBusinessLearning.net members will act responsibly. Violations in terms of service will result in suspension of membership to SmallBusinessLearning.net. SmallBusinessLearning.net members will not:

  1. harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress or discomfort upon another SmallBusinessLearning.net participant, user, or other individual or entity;
  2. transmit via or post to an SmallBusinessLearning.net internet area any information, data, text, files, links, software, communication or other materials ("Content") that SmallBusinessLearning.net considers to be unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
  3. intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law, including but not limited to any regulations having the force of law while using or accessing SmallBusinessLearning.net or in connection with your use of SmallBusinessLearning.net in any manner; and
  4. post or transmit any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or any other forms of solicitation in SmallBusinessLearning.net, except in those areas that are designated for such a purpose. Members will not use SmallBusinessLearning.net email to market or "spam" other members. The sender of any message deemed to be "spam", "marketing" or "mail bombing" to any other member or members will be liable for $100 for each mailbox/user that receives each unauthorized message, commercial (promoting services of a commercial entity) or not.

Security

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. SmallBusinessLearning.net will safeguard your online privacy. Information you provide will not be shared with partners or business sponsors of SmallBusinessLearning.net. We do not sell personal information to third parties or mailing lists.

There are some e-commerce sections where you may need to supply credit card information in order to complete a purchase. All financial transaction areas of this site are secure and credit card numbers are encrypted so that they cannot be viewed by outside parties.

Intellectual Property

Members agree not to upload or transmit any Content to SmallBusinessLearning.net that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights ("Rights") of any party. Indemnification

SmallBusinessLearning.net members agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless SmallBusinessLearning.net, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees consultants and agents from any and all third party claims, liability, damages and/or costs (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from your use of SmallBusinessLearning.net, your violation of these Terms of Service or your infringement, or infringement by any other user of your Account, of any intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity.

Choice/Opt-Out

Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us and our partners at the point where we request information about the visitor.
