Artwork Specifications

Please send a proof with any work sent to us (even if it is only black and white) so that we know that artwork correct when we look at it.

FORMAT. We recommend that artwork is supplied in an Apple Mac. format. We are able to accept work produced on a PC saved as a TIFF or high resolution JPEG.

RESOLUTION. Anything produced in PHOTOSHOP needs to be at a resolution of 300 pixels/inch for optimum quality.

COLOUR. We print from CMYK (unless pantone spot colours have been specified). RGB is not acceptable. Please remember when working from QUARK XPRESS you must make colours from CMYK. Do not use the blue, green, red or registration which are always shown on your screen as these are RGB. You can use the cyan, magenta, yellow and black which are on your screen as these are CMYK. Tip - To get the reddest red make it from 0% cyan, 100% magenta, 100% yellow and 0% black).

FONTS. It is extremely important that all screen and postscript fonts shown under FONT USAGE in QUARK are supplied with the job. If you are using fonts in a FREEHAND or ILLUSTRATOR document either CONVERT TO PATHS / OUTLINES or make sure that they are also supplied with the job.

BLEED. Before creating a document you need to think about the trim size and bleed. 1.Whatever finished size your document is it is absolutely necessary to make any pictures etc bleed over the edge by 2mm all around (this will be trimmed off). 2. All text must be 5mm away from the edge (actual trim edge).
