 Where is the air conditioner?
bed and breakfast PortoBeing located ½ block off the beach, we rarely have need for air conditioning, however we do have fans available at the front desk to help cool down your room if you should need it.
Where is a good place for seafood?
We have a variety of choices for seafood and several are within walking distance. We would recommend Georgie’s Beachside Grill, Newport Steak and Seafood and Lighthouse Deli.

In addition to every fast food chain imaginable, Newport has Flash Backs which is a 50’s theme restaurant located in South Beach and several pizza parlors.
Do you have any more Val-U Inns on the beach?
Unfortunately, we are the only Val-U Inn on the beach, however we have several other properties in Oregon, Washington, Montana and even Alabama. You can call 1-800-443-7777 for a full listing of our properties.
Why don’t you have cable television?
We find that satellite service offers our guests a better variety of channels than local cable companies provide.
Do you allow pets?
Yes! We are pet friendly and allow dogs at a minimal fee per dog per night. Dogs many not be left in the room by themselves, dog cookies are available at the front desk and there is a large dog walking yard behind the building.
Where is the nearest beach access?
There is public beach access directly across the side street from the Val-U Inn.
Is there internet service available?
Our rooms have data port phones for easy access to your ISP. If you are dialing into a long distance number there will be a long distance charge.
Do you have a continental breakfast?
The Val-U Inn offers a deluxe breakfast every morning in our Continental Room on the first floor. We offer a variety of fruits, breads, pastries, cereals and beverages.
Do you have meeting facilities?
We are proud to offer meeting rooms for our guests as well as local residence needing a space. We have a traditional room as well as two smaller rooms for more informal functions.
