EUROMEDIA 1996

A scientific conference on Web technology, new media, communications and telematics theory, methods, tools and applications

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM. DECEMBER 1921, 1996

AIM AND SELECTED PAPERS

The 1996 SCS EuroMedia conference will bring together three individualconferences (WEBTEC, MEDIATECand COMTEC) culminating in an applicationsconference (APTEC) on December 21. EuroMediais a scientific event, and focuses on the exchange of new technology, methods, tools, and applications in the wide field of multimediaInformation and Communications Technology (ICT). A scientificevent means that rather than just showing new tools and ideas, the focus is on scientific presentations, based on refereed paperswith adequate underlying theory and if possible empirical testingof results. The fields covered at this conference include Webtechnology, multimedia, telecommunications, mobile computing, broadband networking, distributed computing, and telematics. Theconference is organized by the European Simulation Office ofthe Society for Computer Simulation International (SCS).SCS has been a professional institution for over 40 years. InEurope, scientific conferences on simulation and related topicshave been organized by SCS since 1986. The papers that will bepresented are focused on the following subjects:

WEBTEC

The WEBTEC conference focuses on new developments with respectto Internet, Intranet, HTML, and WWW. Because of the large amountof new tools and developments, scientific papers focusing on thissubject should always include references to other ideas and products. If your paper describes a new language or tool, include the theoreticalbasis, application, and (tested) experiences.

Accepted papers for the WEBTEC conference are:

MEDIATEC

The MEDIATEC conference looks at new developments in multimediatechnology. Step by step, multimedia computing becomes more commonand more popular. CD-ROM technology, videoconferencing, and real-time3-D animation have become widely available for standard hardwareplatforms. The type of papers we are looking for try to give atheoretical foundation to developments in multimedia hardwareand software, if possible comparing different alternatives sothat empirical results can form a basis for new standards andchoice among alternatives.

Accepted papers for the MEDIATEC conference are:
