| Ending Hunger Go Ye Ministries has opened five Feeding Stations in Honduras working with Centro Cristiano Gerizim, a local church in Tegucigalpa. We are able to feed several hundred children three times a week. These children are fed physical and spiritual food and know that someone cares about them. They develop a sense of belonging and worth.
Go Ye Ministries' Shoebox Project
We collect good clothes, toys, candy, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, shampoo, school supplies, coloring books and crayons. These items are sorted and packed to make individual boxes, each designed for a certain child at one of our Feeding Stations.
Joy is watching a child open a beautifully wrapped box of goodies prepared just for them.
accommodation in BallerupThere is a great need for more Feeding Stations in both Honduras and Peru. Honduras is going through a severe drought that has further weakened their economy. Many people are still living in plastic houses since Hurricane Mitch (November 1998) destroyed so much of the country.
In Peru, there are hundreds of families living on old trash dump land without water, bathrooms, or electricity. Most of the families are made up of woman and children from the mountains who ran from the fighting between the drug lords and the government. They ran clear to the ocean where they now live. GYM is working in this area, and we could easily find women to work (for food) at a Feeding Station if we only had the money to pay for a food supply. | A happy boy shows his plate of food at our Feeding Station in Honduras.
