| 2002 Pack 13 Popcorn Sale This year the popcorn sale runs from October 5th thruOctober 24th. Please, do not sell popcornbefore the start date! Popcorn pickup will be November 9thfrom 9 to 11 a.m. at the Horizon School parking lot.The popcorn (and any remaining dues) will need to be paid for at that time.Checks (made out to PACK 13) can be postdated for November 22ndto give you a chance to collect and deposit the money from your sales. If youare not going to sell popcorn, your dues are due to MarkToby by OCTOBER 24th! Last year we had 4 scouts sell over $1,000 worth of popcorn (Robbie M. wasthe top seller with $1,306). This year there are a few changes to thepopcorn offerings. There is a 24 pack of Microwave Popcorn (6 Butter, 6Light, 6 Kettle Corn, and 6 Unbelievable ButterTM), the 3-way tin nowhas Cheddar, White Cheddar, and Caramel Corn, and the standard Microwave popcornis now a 12 pack. The profit margins are still the same and the prizesheet contains several new prizes. Your prize level is determined by yourtotal dollar sales (including any Show n Sell sales). If you sold popcorn last year, you should receive a copy of last years ordersheet to help get repeat customers. This popcorn sale is the ONLY approved salewhere Cub Scouts may wear their uniform to sell. It really helps sales! Rememberthat selling popcorn not only raises money for the Pack, it also teaches scoutssalesmanship and skills for interacting with people. The prices and profits for this years items are:
Order sheets are due to Mark Toby by October 24th.You can turn them in at the pack meeting that night, or you can get them to medirectly. Please, dont turn them in late. They need to be processed andturned into the council in is a very short time frame. If I dont get yours intime, it may not be included and you would lose out on the popcorn, prizes, anddues assistance. When you turn in your sheet make sure it has your name, phone number, den, prize(s) selection, and whether you would like a patch or pin forselling popcorn. There is no spot on the form to note "Patch" or"Pin", so just write it in the "Council Name" area. Ifneither PATCH nor PIN is chosen, a Patch will be assumed. Again this year, you can select as many prizes as you can to equal the dollar amount you havesold. But, there is no splitting or combining prizes or profits between scouts. There are additional prizes for top selling scouts in the council and in thePack! So SELL! SELL! SELL! One point of confusion in the past was about how much popcorn needs to besold to pay the Pack Dues. Each scout needs to sell enough popcorn so that thePROFIT from the different items totals his Pack Dues. If he does not make enoughprofit to cover the dues, the check you write to pay for the popcorn will haveto be increased by the amount of dues still owed. For example, if the scout sold$200 of popcorn, which might figure out to be $54 of profit, you would need towrite a check for $218 when you picked up the popcorn ($200 popcorn sales + $18shortfall of profit ($72 dues - $54 profit)). For your information, selling aslittle as $260 of popcorn can make $72 of profit. (Selling 26 12 packMicrowave popcorn boxes would give you $72.80 in profit) I know this all can be kind of confusing, so if you have any questions, please contact Mark Toby.
